A shot of me on Mt. Oberg, near the North Shore of Lake Superior.  It used to be for me, that taking pictures was an excuse to take long walks in the outdoors.  Now, being in the "Great Outdoors", is an excuse to take photographs.  I kayak on Minnesota’s lakes and streams and occasionally on Lake Superior looking for photo opportunities of wildlife and landscapes. In the winter I don my snowshoes or CC skis and follow the sleddogs during the John Beargrease Marathon.

I am always working to perfect my camera skills and learn as much as I can from other nature photographers.  God has really blessed my efforts as I have had many opportunities to photograph interesting scenes in the outdoors.  I once stepped into a clearing between an old bull moose and two young bulls.  I was too busy taking photographs to realize I wasn't a welcome guest. Another time, while hiking in beautiful fall color, I came upon a small pond with a dozen Woodducks resting in it.  The colors from the ducks and the reflections from the colorful trees provided me with a special opportunity and some of the best photographs I have taken. I have had other unique experiences with Loons, Blue Herons and Bald Eagles.

I hope you enjoy the photographs that appear on the website.  As of Spring 2009, I am now a full time Nature Photographer.  I plan to update this site on a more regular basis going forward.
